Whimsical Willow | Olympia Newborn Photography Session

Meet Winter and her sweet baby sister Willow. Fun little fact, Winter actually named Willow, and I think the names go so perfectly together. I loved watching Winter interact with her baby sister. It seems from the moment she named her, Winter was preparing to be the best big sister she could be for Willow!

The theme for this newborn session was magical and whimsical with soft tones and colors. My client had an adorable little peachy pink blanket with a moon and star print on it for the baby, so she wanted to incorporate that theme into the session. I thought that would work perfectly! When I saw the pinky peach color of big sister’s dress, I knew right away that the blanket and dress would be so sweet if we used them both in a sibling picture together.

Speaking of sibling pictures, their mama wanted a custom image created just for her two little ones. Her and her daughter both loved the image of the baby mouse sleeping in the little matchbox because Winter collects mouse stuffies. Mama wanted to know if we could Winter into the image with Willow somehow. I wasn’t totally sure this could be done, but you know me. I always try to make my client’s dreams come true. And…it worked!! It is the sweetest image, and it looks like it came straight from a page out of a story book.

One of my absolute favorite themes is the baby bunny sleeping on the moon. I love the whimsical little wooden ladder! The felt crescent moon is just so soft and lovely. Willow looks so adorable in the little bunny onesie! Those floppy ears are the sweetest. The faint clouds in the background are the perfect finishing touch. Winter and Willow were the sweetest little girls to photograph! I can’t wait to see them for another sister session.
