Washington State Baby Photographer | Polka Dot Cake Smash Session
This little princess came in to see me for her newborn photo session when she was just a few days old. Not long after, she returned to the studio for her 6-Month Sitter Session (one of my favorite milestones because they look so cute with their new-found coordination and ability to see the world from an upright position). When her parents contacted me to book another session, I couldn’t believe it was already time for her one-year birthday celebration! My, how time flies in that very first year. I was excited to start planning her super fun first birthday cake smash session!
About this sweet session
We started the shoot with what I like to call the “traditional part.” I take some cute pictures of baby before they dive into the cake. For these birthday portraits, she wore an adorable polka dot dress (I love polka dots and little girls look adorable in them!). She had fun showing off her cute little toes and dazzling smile! Even if she didn’t understand the concept of turning one, she seemed to know that this was an important moment, and she enjoying shining in the spotlight.
Then, we moved from the traditional part to the cake smash! Her mama brought in the loveliest little dress with a touch of rainbow on the tutu. The petite crown-shaped headband was beyond adorable, and amazingly she was happy to wear it! Baby was fascinated with her pink swirl cake and was even more excited when she realized it was all hers to eat! As soon as she realized it was indeed food, she dug in for a few more bites of sweetness.
At the end, we did a little clean up in the “bubble bath,” where she smiled and giggled. Of course, this was an optimal time to show me her little toes once again, and I was happy she did because they are the cutest little toes!
Happy birthday, princess! I had so much fun celebrating with you!
