Three Things to Ask Your Newborn Photographer Before Your Session – Olympia Tacoma Newborn Photographer

stunning-black-and-white-photo-of-newborn-asleep-in-mamas-hands-in-olympia-washingtonWhen you’re headed into a newborn photo session, you want to be sure you’re able to make the most of the experience. After all, these pictures will be hanging on your wall and shared with friends for years! Make sure you ask your photographer these three key questions before your newborn photo session.

1. Will you be editing the photos? Newborns aren’t always the beautiful, smooth-skinned creatures they appear to be on baby photo sites. They have peeling skin, blotchy skin, jaundice, baby acne, scratches from their teeny tiny but razor sharp nails and a host of other problems. At Fairies & Frogs, for example, you’ll receive full professional editing on all of your newborn photos to smooth out the minor blemishes so your baby will be as beautiful on your wall as they are in your memory.

2. How much experience do you have photographing newborns? Photographing newborns requires unique photography and baby soothing skills. It can be a challenge to try to get that perfect picture from such a tiny little human! Anne at Fairies & Frogs offers you 17 years of newborn photography experience, complete with the patience necessary to wait until your baby is asleep, soothe away those tears, and get the pictures of your dreams.

3. What props do you provide? What props do I need to bring with me? If you have that perfect newborn picture idea in your head, you want to make sure that your photographer has the tools to make it happen. At Fairies & Frogs, we provide a great range of tools and props (nests, baskets, bowls, fabrics, the “moon” and more) that will allow us to create enchanting newborn pictures, but we’re also open to the idea of you bringing your own newborn props for the photo shoot and we are happy to incorporate your special items into your baby’s session.

You’ll only get the chance to do newborn pictures with your baby once, and you want them to be absolutely perfect! By checking with your photographer beforehand, you can make sure that you know everything you need to know before coming in for your session.
