I had so much fun as Callum’s Tacoma cake smash baby photographer!

Callum is celebrating his very first birthday! In fact, we even managed to get Callum to hold up his finger, so everyone would know that he is officially one year old. Callum’s family reached out to me to schedule his session and they decided to go with a Luxe First Birthday package. My Luxe package is the most comprehensive and offers 4 sets. Including one imagination set (wait until you see Callums!), a traditional portrait set, a cake smash setup, and a bubble bath set. I know how special a first birthday is to the whole family, so I also add in the choice of a parent or sibling pose with the traditional portraits. Though it may be their birthday, it’s just as important to allow those who love them to step in front of the camera as well!

Sweet little Callum had the most adorable outfits ready for his Tacoma cake smash photos.  The setup, cake, and cleanup are all handled by me. So all my parents have to do is bring along the outfits they’ve selected, and any favorite items from home they wish to include in the photos. For Callum, it was a soft and fuzzy teddy bear. This adorable little boy just loves his bear, it might even be his favorite toy, so we had to include it in the portraits!

And the outfit for his classic portraits? A tot-sized kilt! Actually, Mom decided to keep the kilt on for Callum’s big moment, his imagination image. For this fun set, Mom selected a beautifully creative scene with a dragon. Little Callum absolutely rocked it too! We were able to get him to stare right into the eyes of the “dragon” and the shot turned out incredible, you’ll get to see it below.

After we had some fun with his classic portraits and his imagination pose, it was time to bring out the good stuff, the cake! For Callum’s cake smash set, his Mom chose a beautiful firefly scene with glowing lanterns. The entire scene was created with lush shades of blue and gold. Of course, I had to get Callum a cake that would fit in perfectly with his whole theme. So, I ordered Callum a yellow cake covered in royal blue frosting and glowing yellow fireflies. I also put a gold number one on top of the cake and you better believe that is the first thing Callum grabbed!

Once the gold was promptly removed from the cake, we handed Callum a fork so he could dig into his very first birthday cake. He held onto the fork most of the time, but he also grabbed fistfuls of frosting with his other hand! This little boy was not shy one bit and he thoroughly enjoyed tasting and smashing his “just for him” birthday cake!
