Being a Seattle Newborn Photographer means working with little cuties like Baby Freya!

Doesn’t this sweet girl have such a unique name? Her name is rooted in old Norse mythology. The name Freya belongs to the Norse goddess of the same namesake. More commonly known by its traditional spelling “Freyja”. So, it was only fitting that this tiny goddess was celebrated with an amazing photoshoot!

I worked with baby Freya’s parents on this Luxe Newborn Session to create an amazing variety of classic newborn photos mixed in with a little imagination! The Luxe Newborn Session also comes with the option to include parents or siblings in the shoot. And it just so happens that this family is big Star Wars fans. Freya’s big brother came ready for the shoot with an amazing Yoda-themed costume! I used a little bit of my magic to make it look like big brother was holding a glowing saber and oh boy did it come out amazing! He had the biggest smile on his face at that moment, it was so cute to see him enjoying his baby sister’s photoshoot!

Her family also picked the color purple to run through the theme of her photos. Which just so happens to be my favorite color! So I guess you can say I’m a little partial to this shoot. We truly let imagination and creativity run wild. From Jedi light sabers to sleeping sweetly on the moon and then floating out to sea on a tiny raft. And finally, we topped it all off with baby Freya’s classic portraits and a gold crown!

But with all of the places that we traveled to during this shoot, by far the most exceptional aspect of these photos has to be that we caught sweet Freya slumbering away, and wide awake! In all my years of photographing sweet newborns, I must say it is truly a rare gem to capture babies awake because they are usually happy to dream the day away.
