I love celebrating the journey of moms to be as their Puyallup maternity photographer. The journey to motherhood is such a deeply personal aspect of becoming a parent. Some mamas want to celebrate the tender moment of them carrying their babies by embracing their bodies with a photoshoot, and that’s where I step in. This journey of carrying your baby can feel like an eternity. But also, it will pass by so quickly, making it feel like a fleeting moment. So making my moms to be feel gorgeous in front of the camera is a responsibility I do not take lightly.

As a Puyallup maternity photographer, my baby-carrying mamas usually come to me with a vision. A sort of expectation of what they’d like from their maternity session. A way to create cherished photos that will hang on the walls of their home, long after their baby has been placed in their arms. For some moms, it’s an empowering milk bath photo shoot that celebrates their feminity and the birth they are about to embark on. For others, it’s about feeling beautiful yet empowered about carrying their baby, and that final vision will look different from parent to parent.

For my gorgeous mama-to-be, featured below, her photo shoot was a hybrid of classic maternity poses with creative photos. We paired these photos with modern looks and some dazzling sparkling attire from my client closet. In fact, at the time of her session, I had just finished lining my client closet with a brand-new bronze mesh gown, along with a brand-new bejeweled gown. I tossed around the idea of having her model the gowns for me during her session and she was on board with giving them a test run in front of the camera.

In addition to these two looks, we also played around with a cream-colored strapless dress that perfectly showed off her sweet baby bump. I love how the shade of the gown portrays simplistic elegance. Additionally, cream and white are such classic colors to wear during a maternity photo shoot. They work to story-tell the sweet innocence and new beginning of the beautiful life you are about to welcome. We decided to elevate this look with the use of a gold crown and a creamy floral backdrop. Both of which worked to make mom the main focal point of the image. In addition to this, I also created an imagination photo for this gorgeous mom. Gorgeous oversized orchids frame an arched hallway where mom stands by a window bathing her in glowing sunlight. An unforgettable image, that I hope she is able to cherish for a lifetime.

At the time that this mama booked her session, she decided to bundle her Classique Maternity Session with Dolce newborn session. That means, in just a few short weeks, I will have the privilege of capturing her sweet baby in the studio. A beautiful full-circle moment, celebrating the birth of a new soul.
