1. Hands-On Children’s Museum

The Hands-on Children’s Museum is exactly what it sounds like! Children are highly encouraged to participate in ongoing exhibits and programs to further their interest in science and art. There are multiple types of activities and exhibits at the museum for tots and big kids alike.

2. Olympic Flight Museum

Are your sweet little ones fascinated by airplanes and helicopters? At the Olympic Flight Museum, they’ll get to experience aircraft up close and personal. Their current displays include retired helicopters from the armed forces and vintage artifacts from World War II.

3. Puget Sound Estuarian

The Puget Sound Estuarium is a marine life discovery center featuring aquariums and interpretive exhibits. Outside the facility, you’ll find local docks and beaches connecting you to the vibrant local estuarine ecosystem.

1. The Olympia Center

The Olympia Center offers baby and toddler classes for children aged 12 to 24 months. Time frames for the baby gym vary per day and include a fun interactive experience with an indoor playground.

2. The Little Gym

The Little Gym offers pre-k gymnastics. Additionally, they also offer parent and me classes for littles aged 4 months to 13 months. These classes are designed to help your sweet little ones learn and grow while you come are along for the fun! During the parent and me classes, you’ll work on strength and motor skills. 3. Black Hills Gymnastics

Black Hills Gymnastics offers a tumbling tots (ages 3 & 4) program as well as a program for pre-k-aged children. Each of these programs is designed to help your little one develop character, self-confidence, and strength.

4. Charlies Safari

Charlie’s Safari is an indoor family fun center that features a bounce house and a fun safari adventure playground for your little ones to explore. They maintain a clean and safe environment with reduced weekday rates for little ones to explore the jungle during the week.

Admission | Tuesday & Thursday children 2-4 are $8.49, and under 1 is free. Tuesday & Thursday children aged 5 and up are $10.99. Weekend and Holiday rates are as follows: children 2-4 are $14.99, under 1 is free, and children 5 and up are $19.99.

5. Odyssey 1

Odyssey 1 is more than just an arcade, it’s an indoor jungle gym for kids aged 10 and younger. Worried about your little mixing in with the big kids? They also have a dedicated space for children aged 4 and under. At Odyssey 1 you’ll find swings, slides, a ball pit, and a fun clubhouse.

Admission | Monday through Friday children 33” or taller are $8.75, Saturdays and Sundays children 33” or taller are $10.80, toddlers are $4.95, and children under 33” in height are free with a paid admission (perfect for siblings!), supervising adults are always welcome free of charge.

6. Sky Zone

Sky Zone offers a little leapers program for little ones who are ready to jump and play! Children 6 and under are welcome to play and have fun with an instructor-led program every Wednesday & Sunday from 9 am-11 am. Sky Zone does require that your little leaper wears the Sky Zone branded socks for maximum safety.

You might be wondering where the free things to do in Olympia WA are located. Luckily, there are quite a few free fun activities for you to enjoy with the littles during the week or on the weekends. Here are some go-to activities in Olympia WA that are completely free of charge!

1. West Olympia Timberland Regional Library

The local library offers playgrounds and story time from birth all the way up to age 5. It’s a great way to connect with other parents while fostering your child’s love for reading. You can find a complete list of upcoming events in this age group, at this link.

2. WET Science Center

Children of all ages are welcome to explore and play at the WET Science Center. Here your child will learn more about the lifecycle of water in a fun engaging way that will put them in the mix.

Hours | Closed on Sunday and open the remainder of the week from 10 am to 4 pm

Admission | The WET Science Center is always free to visit, additionally, free parking can be found in the visitor’s center.

3. Farmers Market

The farmers market is an easy fun way to get kids excited about nutritious eating by exploring a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables as well as meats and dairy. It’s a great place to visit and take in the local sites while discovering artisanal quality local foods.

Hours | 10 am to 3 pm during the months of January through March

Tip | Depending on the time of year, the farmers market can be busy and tight, opt for a sleek stroller or baby-wearing, if possible.

4. Lattin’s Country Cider Mill & Farm

Lattin’s Country Cider Mill and Farm has been part of Olympia since 1976. The thing they are known for most is their award-winning apple cider. However, they also sell homemade products that feature all-natural ingredients. You’ll find delicious items like jams, syrups, apple butter, fritters, cookies, and donuts. During the fall they also offer a fun pumpkin patch experience.

Hours | Closed Sunday, the remainder of the week the farm is open from 9 am – 5:30 pm

Admission | General admission is free, however, the farm does host season-ticketed events.

Tip | The farm features soft dirt paths. If you have a solid stroller that is up to the task, you should have no issues exploring the farm.

5. Capital Mall

On a rainy day when the whole house is going stir-crazy is there any better escape than the local mall? The mall features a small play place with slides and aquatic-themed creatures for climbing and exploring.
