Olympia Newborn Photographer – Newborn Preemie Photography Session

This little guy’s momma contacted me way in advance to book her maternity and newborn sessions, she was on the ball and was so prepared and called me about two months before he was due. Then, about two weeks later, she contacts me and says that her baby boy has decided his birthday is going to be early…six weeks early! After the little early bird arrived he got the green light to go home not too long after he was born. His mom and I were in constant contact because she really wanted his newborn pictures done during that 5 to 10 day window of time that is optimal for a newborn photography session. We are often asked does this window of time change if a baby is a preemie? The answer is that scheduling a photography session for a preemie is just a little bit different than a baby who arrives just before or just after their due date because some preemies have to stay in the NICU for a few weeks and some stay for just a couple of days. As soon as baby gets the go ahead and can go home we will reschedule their session for a couple of days after they are home. What if they are not able to come in during the “optimal window of time”? That’s totally okay! Preemies get an extension on that window {or a “bigger window” lol!} because they were born early. We keep our schedules totally flexible because babies are born when they decide to, sometimes they are born early and sometimes they decide they are super comfortable where they are and decide they want a birthday later than we all expected! If you have a reserved newborn session we are happy to move your session around to get you in as soon as possible if plans change and babies have a way of changing plans :)

We are currently booking for Fall and Winter. If your due date is anytime during the next 4 to 5 months, now is the time to reserve your session. We only have a few spots remaining for October, November and December. Contact us to reserve your session.

This tiny little bub was six weeks early! Can you see his adorable little toes?
