It’s always fun to work to work on a newborn photoshoot in Kent. But it’s all the more special when a dear friend brings their little one to me for a session. Sweet little CharlieAnne is the daughter of a lifelong friend. In fact, when I first met CharlieAnne’s mama, she wasn’t much bigger than CharlieAnne. But, this beautiful family has been a presence in my life ever since and I am overjoyed that they chose to work with me for CharlieAnne’s newborn photos.
I wanted to roll out the ‘red carpet’ so to speak for CharlieAnne, and provide her with the best experience possible for her very first photoshoot. That meant getting creative with different backdrops and of course, the outfits to match. But, it also meant spending time with CharlieAnne just as she was, sleepy, sweet, and all bundled up
This newborn photoshoot in Kent is full of creativity & magic!
Classic photos are always one of the best ways to begin any session. So we kept it natural and simplistic with a soft ivory swaddle and fuzzy throws. Letting CharlieAnne slumber away quietly and peacefully, with her tender round cheeks and fuzzy red hair. This little girl was born to shine! Luckily for us, she stayed asleep throughout the duration of the photoshoot. I was able to easily move her from pose to pose and swaddle to swaddle without any issues.
When it was time to throw some fun into the mix and move on from her classic photos, there were two very specific backgrounds that her mom had in mind. For the first setup, CharlieAnne was a tiny little bee, high on a shelf, protecting the honey jar with a honey dipper in hand. We dressed her in an adorable yellow and black striped onesie, complete with a hat and the tiniest little bee antennae you’ve ever seen.
For her final pose, and shining moment, it was time to turn CharlieAnne into ‘the child’. Courtesy of a galaxy far far away, CharlieAnne took to her pod with her friendly droids by her side for space travel! It was so amazing to work with this sweet baby whose mama is such a cherished friend. I am often privy to watching families grow when I capture a newborn photoshoot in Kent. Seeing little babies celebrate their first birthday, or become big brothers or big sisters. However, this session, in particular, is one I will always be grateful for!
