Newborn Photography Bend Oregon

This newborn photography session in Bend Oregon brought me right into this sweet little guy’s home. Say hello to adorable little baby Maverick! Fun fact, baby Maverick’s Daddy owns a tire shop. Naturally, we had some fun creating one-of-a-kind custom images for Maverick that put him right at the center of his Daddy’s world of transportation.

For so long, I have offered my clients an in-studio photo experience. While that is still such a big part of the Fairies and Frogs fun, I also understand the importance and flexibility of in-home photos. So yes, I was more than happy to travel to Bend Oregon to capture this lovely newborn photography session for Maverick and his adoring family! Feeding schedules, diaper bags, and newborn sleep do not always create the best recipe for travel. I know my parents are tired and worried about traveling with their sweet bundle to a photography studio. So I love being able to offer them the ability to remain comfy and cozy in their own home. All while working at a relaxed pace that fits their current season of life.

But there is one thing that comes up over and over again for parents who schedule an in-home session. They are worried about the current state of their home. To that I say, don’t be! In my over 20 years of experience photographing babies and families (and as a mom myself), I have seen it all. Your home does not need to be magazine-worthy or freshly cleaned to create a comfortable setting for your newborn’s photos. In fact, had I not disclosed that this particular session was captured in Maverick’s home, you might’ve thought it was another studio session. I kept my lens squarely focused on him, and the imaginative photos that his family wanted to create. This approach allowed us to make magic that day!

When the parents I work with get creative about the settings and vision for their newborn photoshoot, anything is possible. While I love this part of the process so much, I never overlook classic portraits. Classic portraits get to the root of what the session is all about. They focus on those tender features of your baby while they are still so small. Tiny toes, little fingers, round cheeks, and pursed lips. Those cherished details of your baby will grow right before your eyes. Before you know it, you’ll hardly believe your newborn has suddenly transformed into a toddler. Putting the focus on these features of your adorable baby with classic photos is the perfect way to soak up every detail of their sweetness.

I believe the importance of classic portraits should not be missed. But, don’t get me wrong, I enjoy the creative process that goes into making original one of a kind photos for the families I work with. When I learned about Maverick’s Daddy’s occupation, we began dreaming up imaginative scenarios to honor his family’s legacy. We even took it a step further than tires and included fun elements like retro airplanes and toy cars.
