Anxious parents often worry whether their baby will cooperate for their newborn photo session. The answer is that it doesn’t matter. We will cooperate with the baby.

We know that your days old little bitty baby is not going to take direction, pose on command, stay awake, stay asleep or not have fussy moments. We understand that the photographer is not in control. The parents are not in control. Baby is in control. Our goal is to provide the best possible conditions to make your baby comfortable and happy and with over 17 years of experience photographing newborns, Anne has the knowledge, the techniques and the patience to make your baby one happy camper!  When baby is comfortable and happy we can usually convince them to stay asleep or be awake and content and then they will do all the cute, adorable squished up poses that will make your heart melt!!

When choosing a photographer for pictures of your newborn, you should look for someone who is skilled, creative, experienced, and above all, patient. An experienced newborn photographer will have the props, lighting, and latest equipment, as well as a wealth of knowledge to help keep your little one warm and soothed. The photographer will work around the baby’s schedule and take the time necessary to take those exquisite photos of your new baby. It is also important for the parents or other family members to be calm and relaxed because the baby may pick up on those anxious feelings. Practice patience. The very quality of patience will have a calming effect on the baby. A soothing environment, like the fully equipped newborn studio at Fairies and Frogs, will go far to help you make the most of your session.

As with most things in life, patience pays off. Your professional baby photographer has the patience and the skills to adapt to baby’s mood and to capture the beautifully nuanced expressions as your little one experiences his or her first days. Those early weeks are a busy time, but remember to schedule your session as soon as possible, because your baby changes so fast. If you have questions or would like to schedule a session, contact us.

It is never too early to reserve your newborn photography session. We recommend booking your session anytime during your second trimester to insure that the time around your due date is available. If your baby is already here or due any day call us 360.438.0432 and let’s see if there is a last minute opening on the schedule!
