Maternity Photographer – Olympia, WA

In the Great Northwest, we only have about 3 months when we can go outside and do photo sessions.  The other 9 months are filled with rain, a day or two (or three) of snow and more rain.  Oh, and did I mention the sun sets right after lunch in the winter?!  Not really, but it sure does feel like it.  So when summer rolls around we love to take our cameras and maybe a prop or two and do sessions outside, and we are so lucky to have this special outside spot for our photo sessions practically right in our backyard!  This adorable couple, in the collage below, just moved here and when the mom-to-be called to book her session, she mentioned that she wanted the beautiful Puget Sound, their new home, as their backdrop, and I knew exactly where to go!  I told her I have the perfect spot, how about Burfoot Park?   She was so excited about my description of the park that she and her husband took a little field trip with their puppy and checked out the spot before the session and then emailed me to say how beautiful it was and that they couldn’t wait for the session!  Yay!  On the evening of their session, the sun started to set, the light was warm and soft and the pictures are spectacular! We have a handful of spots that are our favorites but this one is the most popular with our clients and it is easy to see why.

Fairies & Frogs Photography uses a variety of locations throughout the Olympia and Lacey area for our on location sessions.  We also travel out to other locations if a client prefers; we have gone to farms, beach houses, fields of blooming flowers, in a client’s backyard with Mt. Rainier in the background….the options are limitless, but the good weather isn’t!  If an outside session is something that you always wanted to do, don’t wait too long to reserve your session, the rainy weather will come back before you know it!
