Lacey Newborn Photographer – Newborn Photography Session

Baby acne, jaundice, peeling skin…what do you do if your baby has one or more of these newborn skin issues and your newborn photography session is right around the corner? First, don’t panic :) Second, leave it up to me to take care of every skin issue, from mild to not so mild that your baby has going on at the moment. Most babies have varying degrees of a newborn skin issue. There are some things you can do at home before your newborn photography session to help their skin. If your baby’s umbilical cord has fallen off you can give them a nice, warm bath and then apply some baby lotion to those flaky areas. Don’t forget to bring the lotion with you to your session so that we can reapply it as needed. {Fun Fact: did you know that babies that are born past their due date tend to have more peely skin than an early bird or right-on-timers?) Baby acne and jaundice are skin issues that only time will take care of and in the case of newborn pictures – professional editing will take care of it quick and perfectly! Oh, and there is one more skin issue that is so common and try as you might your baby will still get one or two: scratches from their own fingernails. I can take care of those too! Each image form your newborn photography session will be professionally edited to completely fix any and all issues that baby might have going on that day.

So here’s the take away for you from this blog post – don’t let any skin issue, big or small, postpone your newborn session. The best time for a newborn session is when your baby is 8 to 10 days old, so bring in your baby and let me make your skin worries disappear :)
