As a Kent WA newborn photographer, I love watching families grow! For this family, one little girl is now a big sister as they welcome in their sweet bundle. Say hello to adorable and cuddly baby Kiana. This little one came in for her session and decided she was going to do her own thing. She was awake, asleep, smiling, you name it! But my absolute favorite was when she was swaddled to perfect and slumbering away in her big sister’s arms. A cherished moment that her family will remember for a lifetime.

In addition to big sister, Mom and Dad joined in on Kiana’s portraits. We also worked on some imaginative setups. The amazing thing about imagination poses is there’s no place we can’t go! Whether it’s a trip to the savannas and grasslands of sub-Saharan Africa for a swing on a friendly elephant trunk, or a trip to Iceland to hang the moon and take in the Northern lights. All things are possible with imaginative newborn photography!

For tiny little Kiana, it was both of those and so much more! She also got to wear my newborn-sized bear onesie for a trip to the enchanted forest. With a purple flower crown and friendly butterflies surrounding her, she napped on a mossy tree as if she were ready to hibernate for winter. After that, it was a sleepy trip to the island nation of Themyscira, to embody Princess Diana. Better known as Wonder Woman! 

As tiny little Kiana continued to slumber, there was one more “trip” to make before arriving back at the Fairies and Frogs studio. Kiana had to attend to the woodland creatures that roam her delightful fairytale garden. Her tiny garden was blooming with pink roses and soft glowing lanterns lit the way. Once she knew that all was well, Kiana was off to dreamland.

The imagination poses, however, were not the end of our adventure together. I absolutely had to capture some classic newborn portraits of Kiana. Wrapped in the fluffiest of blankets with arms crossed, and her flower crown still intact, this tender little girl gave me the biggest smile. It made me wonder who she was off to visit in dreamland. Did she dream of the magical creatures in her garden, or maybe the friends she left behind on Themyscira? Either way, you can see the magic of little Kiana’s newborn photos, below!
