You are cordially invited to a viewing of baby Evelyn’s first birthday tea party cake smash photos!
In my two decades as a Seattle baby photographer, I sometimes wonder if I’ve seen it all. But my clients continue to surprise and delight me with their beautiful take on how they view their sweet littles. Whether it’s a storybook character, adorable furry friends, or fun adventurous personalities ripped right from the movies. The parents I work with love being able to create beautiful, impactful scenes. Scenes where their babies and children can let their imaginations soar to new heights.
Sweet little Evelyn has an older brother and an older sister. Both of whom are Fairies & Frogs alumni! She is officially the baby of the family. And I was over the moon to celebrate her birthday while working with her family again. To kick off this session, I started by warming Evelyn up in front of the camera with some classic portraits. Not only are classic portraits a great way to get baby used to the camera, but it’s the perfect opportunity to dress them in the special outfit you have already picked out. You know the outfit, the one that is not quite made for smashing cake.
During the portrait session, sweet little Evelyn had a sad moment in front of the front of the camera. I understand how overwhelming it can be for baby to have their picture taken by a complete stranger, and I always work with my parents to make sure everyone is 100% comfortable during the process. To that end, I made sure Mom was ok with me not only taking Evelyn’s photos when she cried but also that it was ok to share that moment.
First Birthday Tea Party Cake Smash Photos
When it came to the cake smash, I was personally in love with the idea of working with baby Evelyn to create a tea party-themed first birthday cake smash setup. The idea of a children’s tea party is such a cornerstone of play and fun. But for Evelyn, we wanted to make it a little frilly with a dash of dainty and plenty of stuffed friends in attendance. In fact, Evelyn is the very first baby in the studio to use this brand-new setup! To celebrate the moment, Evelyn’s mom brought in the tiniest tea set I have ever seen, and the stuffed animal friends to attend her party. As always, the cake is provided by me and ready & waiting in the studio for my client’s arrival.
Once we were ready to dive in, Evelyn went straight for the teapot on the top of her cake. It was an absolute hoot and we all giggled at this adventurous and curious little girl. But she was the perfect hostess at her party and made sure that each of her friends enjoyed a piece of her birthday cake. It was too adorable to put into words, so you’ll just have to keep scrolling for more of her first birthday tea party cake smash photos!
