First Birthday Session in Olympia

Happy first birthday, baby Lennox! Oh my goodness, just look at those eyes! This handsome boy was such a joy to have in the studio. When his mama contacted me about doing his first birthday cake smash session, I couldn’t wait to hear what she had in mind. She told me all about her Sesame Street theme idea, and I loved it! We both thought it would be super cute to have a “block” party where little Lennox was surrounded with colorful vintage letter blocks!

But before we dove in the cake, we had to get a few classic photos of the big one year old! I love the hats and suspenders she brought along. He pulled the look off better than any grown man I know! What a little cutie. He looked like a little model with his serious eyes!

Once with had his “formal” shots down, it was finally time to party! I know the song goes “C” is for Cookie, but how about “C” is for CAKE! Sweet little Lennox loved every single bite of his birthday cake. When we set the cake down in front of him he looked at the cake and looked at us and then poked the cake curiously. His mom and I were trying to contain our laughter. When he realized that no one was going to stop him, he went for it! All in! In just a few minutes he had his hands and fingers covered in icing. He was just as happy as could be with the entire cake to himself! He was even careful not to disturb Elmo and Cookie Monster waving at him atop the cake – so cute!

After the cake, we put him in the miniature clawfoot tub. He found being surrounded by rubber duckies quite fascinating, and we loved watching him explore!

Happy first birthday, little man!
