Say hello to sweet little newborn baby Benny! Isn’t that the most adorable name? I really love it! He was a sweet smiley little guy who came in for his newborn photo shoot under the watchful eye of his big brother.

Benny’s mom had a unique idea in mind when she scheduled Benny’s newborn session. She wanted to get a jump start on her Christmas cards for the year. So she asked if we could incorporate some on-season themes into Benny’s session. I’m always on board with my client’s ideas, especially when they have the desire to get creative! So we, of course, made it happen.

I personally think she knocked it out of the part with the imaginative Christmas scenes she chose! Even though this was technically Benny’s newborn session, there’s no reason why we couldn’t incorporate his big brother! I always welcome in siblings, moms, dads, grandparents, you name it! Putting both boys together in the same frame involved creating an entire scene that mimicked the joy of Christmas through the eyes of a child. Both boys were placed in a quaint “at-home” setup. There was a roaring fire in the backdrop with “stockings hung by the chimney with care”. A Christmas tree stood tall, ornamented with baubles and pine cones. And to top it all off, Santa Claus himself sat by the fire to hand Benny’s big brother a very special gift! 

Little Benny’s individual shot was even more cozied up if you can believe it! He was a fuzzy Christmas bear set high on a shelf just waiting for a snuggle. In his hand was his very first candy cane (a stuffed one of course!). Benny’s bear friends stood careful watch beside him before settling down for a long winter’s nap. There were Christmas trees, soft lights, presents, and all the usual trimmings! Aside from the imaginative Christmas scenes that I captured for this family, we also worked on some classic portraitures for Benny and a camping scene that embodies the Pacific Northwest.
