Oh boy is this newborn photo shoot a sweet one! Freshly arrived sweet little baby Anthony was all wrapped in love for his newborn photos. This dreamy little boy came in with his big sister, (who is so proud by the way!) and his mama. Mom had a couple of fresh ideas in mind to create a custom-commissioned piece of art, and I was all ears to make it happen.

The idea behind the custom-commissioned piece of art is to provide the family with something unique. They get to set the paraments of what they are looking for, in this case, Mom wanted antlers, ferns, and a nice pop of orange! Then I work with them to select the image before final delivery. From there, the scene that they selected is then retired. Meaning little baby Anthony will be the only one to ever possess a newborn photo with that scene. I love helping parents create a piece of artwork of their sweet baby that is uniquely theirs, to hang in their home for a lifetime.
Although the scene might be retired, I still have the little Reindeer bonnet that Anthony wore in my studio. It’s ready and available for the next dreamy little bundle! In addition to Anthony’s star moment in his custom-commissioned art, his big sister came along for the shoot and I was dying to capture them together! Brand-new siblings share the most precious, awe-inspiring admiration for one another. So while yes, this was technically a newborn photo shoot, there’s no reason that we can’t have big sister in front of the camera for a few shots as well. It’s something I always highly encourage!
This was Anthony and his big sisters’ first set of sibling portraits, so I kept it crisp and classic. A swaddle for baby, and a lush white shaggy rug for big sister to kick back on, no shoes required! When you see the adorable little smile on her face, I think you’ll agree that it was a roaring success. I hope to see them in the future and continue to capture every sweet moment of this brother-sister duo as they grow.
With newborn photography (in Auburn WA!) you never know if the baby is going to on a trip to dreamland, or if they’ll decide to wake up and look at you with those big beautiful eyes. Sometimes, you get both! But, in Anthony’s case, he was asleep the entire time. He allowed me to move, pose, and swaddle him with the greatest of ease. Scroll though the photos below to see his full head of hair and his sweet gumdrop toes!
